The American Red Cross in Southwestern New Mexico is committed to our communities in Catron, Doña Ana, Grant, Hidalgo, Luna, Otero and Sierra counties.
Every day, one of your neighbors is helping right here in your community providing hope and comfort to someone devastated by disaster. Last year, the American Red Cross in Southwestern New Mexico’s local volunteers responded to more than 50 disasters - mostly home fires – across its seven counties.
Every day, a Red Cross volunteer is teaching someone to save the life of a friend or connecting a family member with a loved one in the military. Red Cross volunteers are everyday heroes. They come from all walks of life and help when it matters most. Learn how to become a Red Cross volunteer today!
Getting New Mexicans prepared for emergencies is also a big part of our mission. Learn how to help your family and co-workers through American Red Cross CPR and First Aid Training. Register online or by phone at 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767) for classes scheduled throughout Southwestern New Mexico. Or, learn how the Red Cross can bring CPR and First Aid training to your workplace.
More than 90 percent of all Red Cross responses in New Mexico are to single-family home fires. These disasters often leave fellow community members without food, clothing, shelter or a place to sleep. The Red Cross provides basic care as-needed to these families.
